It takes a diverse team that stretches across many different disciplines to make a health care system function at its best. But before these employees can get to work changing lives, something important must happen – they have to get hired! 

One of the teams that powers our workforce at UPMC is Talent Acquisition, made up of more than 100 recruiters who source, recruit, and hire employees across all areas of our system. Joy Adams

Clinical Recruiter • 9 years at UPMC

Joy started her career with UPMC in 2012, and joined our Talent Acquisition team as a Researcher in 2015. After two promotions, Joy is now a recruiter.  

“One of the many perks about UPMC is the encouragement of career growth. My position as a Recruiter is a very rewarding career and I love the work flexibility UPMC provides. Clinical Recruiter • 4 ½ years with UPMC

Since 2017, Wesley has been helping Life Changers find their place at UPMC. First as a Temporary Researcher, then an Employment Specialist, Wesley is now a Recruiter with Children’s Community Pediatrics.

Corporate Recruiter • 3 years with UPMC

With nearly ten years of recruitment experience under his belt, Seth joined UPMC in 2018, where he recruits for Revenue Cycle Patient Access. 

“I enjoy being a recruiter because it gives me a sense of fulfillment knowing that I directly impact someone’s life. We are helping people find jobs so that they can take care of their families. I love my area because it is collaborative, leadership is supportive, and career development is encouraged. Insurance Services Division Senior Recruiter • 4 years with UPMC

Lynne began her UPMC career as a temporary recruiter in 2017. After receiving an offer for a permanent position, Lynne joined the UPMC Health Plan recruitment team, where she now serves as a Senior Recruiter.

“I love the Insurance Services Division because it has a little bit of everything – I’ve had the opportunity to recruit for roles from Customer Service Representatives to Nurses to Project Managers and dozens more. I’ve learned new skills from all the areas I’ve supported, and this well-rounded experience allowed me to grow from a temporary employee to a Senior Recruiter. What has truly kept me with UPMC for the last four years is the people. My Human Resources teammates and my colleagues in the Insurance Services Division are passionate, supportive, and most importantly, happy to be here every day. I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else.”
